Jenny Ambrozek began her association with online technology back in 1985. Backed with a grant from the Australian government she was the editor of The Edutel Book: A Guide to Videotex in Education. It recorded the impact of pioneering online programs in education through the viewpoints of government officials, educational experts, curriculum developers and teachers. Jenny moved to the United States, creating and managing online communities and interest groups during her eight+ years with Prodigy. There, she brought together community components (Web pages, chat rooms, newsletters, bulletin boards, file libraries) in areas ranging from entertainment to technology to parenting. Jenny also learned first-hand about the importance of day-to-day operating practices to minimize the cost of supporting interaction. As a consultant, she now fosters online communities and manages new-product launches with a variety of leading companies in the family entertainment, information, and travel businesses.
Lynne Bundesen is the author of seven books, an award-winning journalist, and a renowned Web site designer/manager. She was the editor of a Ford Foundation journal, a speechwriter and press secretary for both state and federal organizations, a Time magazine photographer, and a foreign correspondent in Southeast Asia. Lynne, who has lived throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States, has worked for The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Herald, and The Christian Science Monitor. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, Time, Fortune, and The Los Angeles Times, where she is a book reviewer. Her three-time Religion in Media Award syndicated column launched the beginning of her online adventures. Lynne has created and managed numerous online projects, including Prodigy's Religion Bulletin Board; Southam Technology Web pages and bulletin boards; the National Association for Female Executives' Web site, which received two Best of Web Awards; and Microsoft's online communities and interest groups. Her newest book is Click: 101 Computer Projects for Kids and Grown-ups from Simon & Schuster.
Anne Collier, editor of The Sage Letter, is a writer and journalist who has worked in media since 1980 - in print, radio, television, and online. After receiving her MA in Asian studies at the University of Chicago, she started out in international news as a stringer for The Christian Science Monitor in Southeast Asia. She later served as Asia editor, associate producer for Monitor Radio, and Tokyo correspondent for World Monitor, which aired on The Discovery Channel. Since then, Anne has worked at the intersection of three, once-distinct worlds: editorial, marketing, and cyberspace. She went from being executive editor of an inflight magazine (whose publisher is a marketing-services company) to directing new-media development for that company. In 1995 she rejoined the Monitor as its online editor, helping to design the "e-Monitor" and managing its editorial staff. Her office is now at home in the foothills of the Wasatch Range, where - thanks to the Internet - she is much more accessible to her children as well as her business associates.
