THE SAGE FAMILY SPONSORS "AMERICA LINKS UP: A KIDS ONLINE TEACH-IN"
Nationwide Campaign To Help Kids and Their Mentors

Pleasantville, NY September 15, 1998--The Sage Family is pleased to announce its sponsorship of America Links Up: A Kids Online Teach-In, a nationwide education campaign to promote and support constructive use of the Internet. The campaign kicks off today with a National Town Hall in Washington, DC.

"The Sage Family is honored to be a sponsor of the America Links Up initiative. The Sage Letter, our monthly newsletter, continues to support the ALU initiatives helping children, families, and educators take advantage of what the Internet offers in a safe productive manner.  America Links Up provides a unique opportunity to raise awareness and understanding, and we encourage everyone to participate in this national teach-in at a local level," says Jenny Ambrozek, Managing Director of The Sage Family.

Policymakers, government officials, and Internet industry executives all acknowledge that parents and teachers are the gateway to reaching, serving, and protecting online kids. However, parents can't find the best Web sites, boycott irresponsible corporate practices, or report criminal behavior without being informed. The Sage Family is committed to helping parents and teachers foster a rich online experience, and is pleased to support the efforts of this campaign.

The Sage Family's mission is to support young people's constructive, practical use of the Web and to be the one-stop news source for families online. Via subscriber e-mail and our Web site, www.sagefamily.com or www.sageway.com, we provide essential Web news and a safe home base for parents, teachers, and the growing grassroots movement of supporters of online kids. With nearly 10 million North American children now regularly using the Internet, many of them way ahead of their parents in 'Net literacy, the need for Web news specifically designed for mentors of online kids is great and expanding daily. Our consulting practice continues this mission by designing Web sites that are easy to use and understand and that promote interaction with users and customers.

For information on how to participate or hold an event, please check out the America Links Up Web site at www.americalinksup.org or contact The Sage Family.
